In the long days of early summer, the fragrance of Kunqu Opera lingers. On the Dragon Boat Festival holiday, the Beijing and Kunqu Opera Theatre sincerely invites everyone to come to the Jao Tsung-I Academy to celebrate the holiday with elegant and harmonious music.

This event will consist of two parts: Kunqu Opera performances and an elegant gathering of musicians.

First, our young actors and musicians will perform selections from 'The Peony Pavilion: A Tour of the Garden' and 'The Ballad Singer's Wife: The Female Player', using distinct northern and southern melodies to take you through a vibrant and colorful journey, allowing you to appreciate the delicate emotions of a young girl in her boudoir, and experience the joys and sorrows of the ballad singer's wife.

After the performance, there will be an elegant gathering of musicians, where feelings will be expressed through silk and bamboo instruments, and friends will be made through music.
